Pipeline & Processing

Midstream transport and refinery process pumps are the two highest motor-density stages in the oil and gas chain.

What the numbers look like

ParameterTypical Value
Pipeline pump power range500 kW โ€“ 20 MW+
Refinery motor densityRoughly 15โ€“30 MW of installed motors per million tonnes/year of refining capacity

Typical applicationsFeed pumps, reflux pumps, FCC slurry pumps, hydrotreater recycle hydrogen compressors
How Motors Actually Get Bought Here

Like-in-kind replacement

Most refinery motor purchases are not new projects. They are transmitter installations, valve swaps, generator replacements and like-in-kind motor replacements โ€” an existing machine has failed or is due, and something equivalent has to go back in its place with minimal engineering.

That makes documented equivalence the whole job. For a replacement to be approved, the specification needs to demonstrate matching frame and mounting dimensions, matching electrical characteristics including full-load amperage and locked-rotor current, an equal or better explosion-protection rating, and rotor inertia compatible with the existing drive settings. LEADGO supplies that comparison as part of the quotation rather than leaving it to the customer's engineering team to assemble.
