Custom Motors

Beyond the standard series, LEADGO builds to specification across the full voltage range from low voltage up to 10 kV. Voltage, windings, mechanical construction and mounting can all be adapted โ€” from a small change to a standard model through to designing a complete system from scratch. Three depths of customisation are offered.

A motor designed from scratch for the customer's specific installation, delivered as a complete motor system solution. For applications the standard product lines cannot cover at all.

What is a permanent magnet synchronous motor?

A permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) replaces the squirrel-cage rotor of a conventional induction machine with permanent magnets. No magnetising current is required, so efficiency stays high at low speed and light load โ€” which is exactly what matters on cyclic duty such as mine crushers and oilfield beam pumps. The central trade-off at selection is capital cost against lifetime energy saving; the energy comparison calculator works that through.

Permanent magnet machines are graded under GB 30253, which is a different scale from the IE classes of IEC 60034-30-1 โ€” that one covers line-fed induction motors. The grades do not convert between the two, which is why the efficiency filter above returns induction series only. A permanent magnet motor can still be given an IE code, but under GB/T 32891.2โ€”2019 (identical to IEC TS 60034-30-2), the separate classification for variable-speed AC machines. If your specification needs an IE code on a permanent magnet motor, ask us and we will quote it against that standard.
