Industrial electric motor manufacturing
LEADGO is a Chinese manufacturer of three-phase industrial electric motors โ induction machines from IE3 to IE5, permanent magnet synchronous machines, high-voltage machines and explosion-protected machines, in both IEC and NEMA frames. Production runs at two plants, in Shandong and in Thailand. This page sets out what is made, where, through which process stages, and โ the part that actually matters when you are choosing a supplier โ which of it you can ask to see in writing.
What is built here
Three-Phase AC Induction Motors
General-purpose IEC-frame induction motors across IE3, IE4 and IE5, plus the large-power and variable-frequency variants of the same platform.
High Voltage Motors
Cage-rotor high-voltage machines at 3.3 kV, 6 kV and 10 kV for mill, fan, compressor and hoist duty.
NEMA Standard Motors
Built to the NEMA standard at 60 Hz for the North American market โ T-frames, NEMA voltages, CSA and US efficiency certification.
Explosion-Proof Motors for Hazardous Areas
Flameproof "d" machines for explosive gas atmospheres and enclosure "t" machines for combustible dust, in fixed-speed and variable-frequency versions.
Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors
Permanent magnet synchronous machines from line-start general purpose through high-speed direct drive and low-speed gearless drive systems.
Special Purpose Motors
Pole-changing multi-speed, dual-power, high-starting-torque and electromagnetic brake machines for duty the standard series does not cover.
Motor Control Systems
Matched drives and control cabinets, supplied with the motor as one drive system.

The Thailand entity is a separate legal company, not a workshop of the Chinese one. For a buyer that is not a detail: the contract party, the country of origin and the lead time all follow whichever entity supplies the order.
Seven stages, and what each one decides
Motor manufacturing is not a single operation but a sequence, and each stage fixes a property that no later stage can recover. Efficiency is decided at the core, not at final test. Explosion protection is decided at the machining stage, not at inspection.
Lamination and core stacking
Electrical steel is punched and stacked into the stator and rotor cores. Steel grade and stacking accuracy set the iron loss the machine carries for its whole life โ this is where an efficiency class is won or lost.
Winding and insertion
Copper is wound and inserted into the slots. Slot fill, insulation placement and end-turn forming decide both the copper loss and the thermal class the winding can actually sustain.
Varnish impregnation and curing
The wound stator is impregnated and cured. This binds the winding mechanically against vibration and seals it against moisture โ the reason a damp-heat test is a design test rather than a field check.
Rotor casting or assembly
Cage rotors are cast; permanent magnet rotors are assembled and magnetised. Rotor bar quality determines starting torque and locked-rotor behaviour, which is what a NEMA design letter describes.
Frame and flameproof joint machining
On a flameproof machine this stage is part of the protection, not just fit and finish: the certified gap and length of the flameproof joints are what contain an internal explosion.
Assembly, alignment and balancing
Bearings, endshields and the fan are fitted, and the rotating assembly is balanced. Residual unbalance shows up later as vibration, and vibration is measured differently in a routine test than in a type test.
Routine test on every machine
Resistance, dielectric withstand, no-load running and mechanical checks are run on every unit. The design behind it is proved separately, by type test, on samples.
What we hold โ and what we do not
A certification list is only useful if it is complete in both directions. These are the product and system certifications held, followed by the two that buyers most often assume and that we do not hold.

Quality (ISO 9001:2015 / GB/T 19001-2016, registration 0350524Q30072R7M), environmental (ISO 14001:2015 / GB/T 24001-2016, registration 0350524E20040R3M) and occupational health and safety (ISO 45001:2018 / GB/T 45001-2020, registration 0350524S30038R3M) management systems, certified by Xingyuan Certification Centre under CNAS accreditation C035-M and the IAF multilateral recognition arrangement. All three cover research and development, manufacture and service of motors and motor control systems at the Rushan plant, and run to 3 March 2027
Explosion-protection certificates (China) + CCC
China
Chinese explosion-protection certificates and compulsory certification for flameproof and dust ignition-proof machines, including the separate mining rating

North America
Master Contract 259277. Safety certificate 70058439 covers the NEMA ranges at 1โ500 HP, 230/460 V, 460 V and 575 V, 60 Hz, TEFC, service factor up to 1.25, in NEMA design B frames 143Tโ586/7T and design A frame L449T. Hazardous-location certificate 70181418 adds Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D at temperature code T3A, T3C or T3. Certificate 70060690 covers the NEMA design D oil-well range, frames 213Tโ449T at 3โ150 HP, also to Class I, Division 2. ATEX is a legal requirement in the European Union and a CE mark does not cover it. For North America the route is CSA; for the Customs Union it is EAC. Both of those are in place.
What to ask any motor manufacturer for
These requests are not adversarial and a compliant manufacturer already holds all of them. They are worth naming individually because they are produced by different processes, kept by different people, and expire on different schedules.
The routine test record, by serial number
Proves the specific unit left the line without a manufacturing defect. It says nothing about whether the design ever met its efficiency or temperature-rise figures โ that is the type test, and they are different documents. Which report proves what โ
The Ex certificate for the exact model and rating
Certification is per model and per rating, not per family, and an X suffix changes what you are allowed to do with the machine. How to check one โ
The product standard the series is built to
It defines the rating table and the environment suffixes for that family โ which is why the same suffix letter can mean different things on two different series. Reading the model number โ
The rated output behind the nameplate
A model number carries the frame and the pole count but deliberately not the power, so the rating has to come from the standard's table rather than from the quotation. Checking a power rating โ
