NEMA Standard (JM, JP) Premium Efficiency Close-Coupled Pump Motor

Purpose-built for close-coupled pumps: rigid cast-iron frame, NEMA JM/JP pump shaft, and a locked drive-end bearing that limits axial shaft float.

A single-speed, totally enclosed fan-cooled, continuous-duty low-voltage squirrel-cage induction motor to the NEMA standard, designed specifically for close-coupled pump mounting. The whole range uses a cast-iron enclosure and a drive-end bearing locking arrangement that restricts axial movement of the shaft extension.

Efficiency meets the Premium Efficiency level of the NEMA standard, clause 12.60 and Table 12-12. The series is certified in the United States (CC) and Canada (CSA), and carries a CSA hazardous-location rating of Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D.

Selection guide

Both are NEMA close-coupled pump shaft standards; the pump manufacturer specifies which. LEADGO builds both across frames 143 to 365.
A Class I Division 2 rating covers locations where an explosive atmosphere is not normally present. If the atmosphere is present in normal operation, you need a flameproof Ex db machine instead — see YBX3 and YBX4.
The series is rated 10:1 on constant-torque duty and 20:1 on variable-torque duty. Beyond that, cooling at low speed becomes the limit and a separately-cooled machine such as YVP should be considered.
