TYPL Series Flameproof Permanent Magnet Motor System for Progressive Cavity Pumps

A vertical hollow-shaft flameproof permanent magnet motor that drives the progressive cavity pump rod directly — no gearbox, and the wellhead seal moves up onto the motor.

TYPL series flameproof permanent magnet motor for progressive cavity pumps

TYPL is a system: a flameproof variable-frequency permanent magnet motor plus an intelligent drive cabinet, developed for progressive cavity pump artificial lift. The vertical hollow-shaft machine drives the pump rod directly, which removes the gear reducer along with its losses and its maintenance.

The second change matters as much in the field: the well seal moves from the wellhead up to the top of the motor, which makes servicing it considerably simpler.

The control cabinet carries soft anti-reverse protection after power failure, stop or fault alarm, regenerative braking, automatic low-temperature heating against condensation, automatic high-temperature cooling, and over-torque, over-voltage and over-current protection.

The series was recognised in 2014 with a Shandong Provincial first prize for enterprise technical innovation and a second prize for new product.

Standards and certification

  • Q/1083 SLJ 004-2022 (flameproof variable-frequency PM motor for progressive cavity pumps)

Typical applications

  • Progressive cavity pump artificial lift on high-viscosity, high-sand and high-water-cut wells
  • Wellsites classified as explosive gas atmospheres

Selection guide

Progressive cavity pump wells where the fluid is viscous, sandy or has a high water cut. Stepless speed control lets the pump be matched to what the well actually delivers rather than to what the gearbox ratio allows.
The gear reducer and the wellhead seal are the two things that get serviced most on this installation. The gearbox is deleted and the seal is relocated to the top of the motor where it can be reached. Recorded energy saving on the direct-drive conversion is around 28%.
This is a flameproof machine for wellsite duty. Send us the area classification, gas group and temperature class for your site so the certification on the nameplate matches what the site requires.

FAQ

Certification copies for the explosion-protection marking, and the dimension drawings for your frame size, are issued on request. Tell us the area classification, gas or dust group and temperature class for your site.
