Commissioning is often the only time when the motor, driven equipment, controls and process team are available together. Use that window to create a comparison set, not just a pass/fail sheet.
| Data group | Context to retain | Future use |
|---|---|---|
| Voltage/current/power | Load, phase and drive state | Loading and supply comparison |
| Temperature | Ambient, elapsed time and sensor | Thermal trend |
| Vibration | Point, direction, speed and load | Mechanical condition trend |
| Process | Flow, pressure, rate or valve state | Explain motor demand |
Make the baseline repeatable
Use named measurement points and calibrated instruments. Capture several approved operating points where the duty varies. Record alignment, lubrication, protection settings and VFD parameter backup with the data set.
Store raw files, summary, date, machine serial number and configuration revision together. When equipment is repaired or materially changed, create a new baseline rather than overwriting the original.
