YFBX series dust ignition-proof three-phase induction motor

YFBX3 is a totally enclosed dust ignition-proof three-phase induction motor for combustible dust atmospheres. Protection is by enclosure to GB/T 3836.1-2021 and GB/T 3836.31-2021, marked Ex tb IIIC T135 °C Db.

Efficiency meets grade 3 of GB 18613—2020. The series is built in two enclosure styles — a flameproof-profile body and a YX3 (Y2) profile body — so it can match the footprint of what it replaces.

Note that the marking was updated from the older "Ex tD A21 IP65 T135 °C" format to the current "Ex tb IIIC T135 °C Db"; both describe the same protection concept under successive editions of the standard.

Selection guide

Ex tb IIIC covers combustible dust. It is a different protection concept from the flameproof Ex db used for explosive gas. If an area has both, tell us — the machine has to satisfy both classifications, and that is a different specification.
With dust protection the ingress rating does real work: keeping dust out of the enclosure is the first line of defence, ahead of the surface temperature limit. IP65 is dust-tight rather than dust-protected.
The flameproof-profile body and the YX3 (Y2) profile body differ in external dimensions. On a retrofit, matching the profile of the machine coming out usually saves the base plate work. Send us the model being replaced.

FAQ
